The student is welcome to show me their answers to the puzzles via Outschool messages. Feedback and any guidance needed will be provided (typically within 24 hours).Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
I will provide all the notes and directions needed to seamlessly follow through each activity. I will also answer questions and provide instructional support if necessary through Outschool messages. There will be four lessons total, with each lesson being posted on Sunday by 12 noon (Eastern Standard Time) for families opting for weekly release of lessons. The goal will be for students to try and complete all of the puzzles prior to the release of the next lesson. This will ensure a completion time within 4 weeks, although time can be extended as needed. The student does NOT need prior experience with these activities, instructions for how to play will be provided. They should however have a basic understanding of how to add, subtract, multiply and divide with whole numbers. Upon completion of the activities, the student will have gained additional experience with developing problem solving strategies and made algebraic connections to support math proficiency.
Learning Goals
The objectives will be to:

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from University of Maryland, Baltimore County
I LOVE math, and I LOVE puzzles that require critical thinking! I make it a goal to find creative and interesting ways to deliver instruction while helping students build their math sense. This course will allow learners to practice, strengthen and grow at their own pace in a more engaging way than numerous skill and drill worksheets.
