Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 9
Welcome! From teaching math in a school to online classes, and even teaching my own, I understand how frustrated some students may become when they face mathematical obstacles! I am here for you – and them. I specialize in patiently explaining several different techniques and how to master each algebraic skill. In this course, your learner will feel confident and assured they will have mastered the material.

All of my classes are very interactive. I encourage questions. I ask questions for clarification and ask for the students to model the process. My teaching method is -I do, we do, you do. I will shower your learner with praise when the task is accomplished and encouragement when they are struggling with a difficult concept. I also am available for extra tutoring if there is a skill that needs a little extra practice.

For each class, the format will be as follows:
5 min – Welcome to the classroom and begin with a real-life math problem, just to get their minds eager and ready.
5 min – Review and Homework questions
20 min – Instruction
25 min – Practice (ensuring student feels confident with the procedures)
5 min – Assignment and Good-bye

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have my BA in Education for College of Florida and am in process of completing my Master's in Education. However, I have been teaching in the classroom for 30 years. I have enjoyed teaching Arithmetic, Prealgebra, and Algebra in the classroom, for homeschool students, and online for the last eight years. Overall, while teaching algebra for over 5 years, I have honed my teaching to make algebraic skills relatable to the students. My passion is to show them that they are more than capable of mastering the material!
