Welcome! From teaching math in a school to online classes, and even teaching my own, I understand how frustrated some students may become when they face mathematical obstacles! I am here for you – and them. I specialize in patiently explaining several different techniques and how to master each algebraic skill. In this course, your learner will feel confident and assured they will have mastered the material. All of my classes are very interactive. I encourage questions. I ask questions for clarification and ask for the students to model the process. My teaching method is -I do, we do, you do. I will shower your learner with praise when the task is accomplished and encouragement when they are struggling with a difficult concept. I also am available for extra tutoring if there is a skill that needs a little extra practice. For each class, the format will be as follows: 5 min – Welcome to the classroom and begin with a real-life math problem, just to get their minds eager and ready. 5 min – Review and Homework questions 20 min – Instruction 25 min – Practice (ensuring student feels confident with the procedures) 5 min – Assignment and Good-bye The first-semester section will cover the following skills: Week 1: Overview of Algebra and Review Pre-Algebra Concepts Week 2: Commutative and Associative Properties Week 3: Order of Operation and Absolute Value * Assessment Week 4: Factors, Fraction Review, and Decimals Week 5: Multi-step Inequalities, Variables, and Terms Week 6: Numbers and Simplifying Decimals Week 7: Fractions, Decimals, Percentages * Assessment Week 8: Distributive Property and Charts Week 9: Number Line and Cartesian Coordinates Week 10: Algebraic Expressions and Graphing a Line Week 11: Slope-Intercept Formula and Graphing a Line, * Review, and Assessment Week 12: Graphing Parallel Lines and Perpendicular Lines Week 13: Radicals, Scatter Diagrams, Slope-Intercept Formula Week 14: Tables Week 15: Graphing Inequalities and Ratios, Fractions to Percentages Week 16: Solving Simultaneous Equations Week 17: Review and Assessment Before week 17, make sure that you sign your learner for the second semester of Algebra.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have my BA in Education for College of Florida and am in process of completing my Master's in Education. However, I have been teaching in the classroom for 30 years. I have enjoyed teaching Arithmetic, Prealgebra, and Algebra in the classroom, for homeschool students, and online for the last eight years. Overall, while teaching algebra for over 5 years, I have honed my teaching to make algebraic skills relatable to the students. My passion is to show them that they are more than capable of mastering the material!
