Welcome to the Math problems competition! The format of these math problems classes will be to discuss as a club a challenge paper with a series of challenging questions designed to enhance logical reasoning and critical thinking skills. The questions will be multiple-choice style which promotes the love of problem-solving. The challenge builds upon mathematical knowledge developed through existing tuition and will encourage students to utilize their mathematical reasoning and fluency to solve unique and interesting questions. The problems promote critical thinking skills and will develop in students the ability to use their knowledge in unfamiliar ways in order to solve a unique problem. Most questions are appropriate to all pupils, while still remaining a challenge for more experienced pupils. This club is suitable for those students with a solid foundation in mathematics for 12th grade and below, and for those wishing to make friends through a shared passion for problem solving and puzzles! Our first 4 weeks will look like this: Week beginning 16-September - Fractional problems Week beginning 23 September - Worded problems Week beginning 30 September - Missing number problems Week beginning 07-October - Shape problems
