Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Students will learn a variety of math topics in class. I will teach long division, multiplication, fractions, and grade-specific math via pre-recorded video. Students will watch the instructional video and respond to homework questions. When the student is comfortable, the student can pause the video and solve problems on their own, then press play to hear and see the answer. There will be opportunities for the students to submit homework questions, complete math challenges, and even challenge classmates by participating in "mini" math competitions and even share strategies. We will follow a schedule, but students will have the opportunity to ask questions about any elementary/middle school math topic that isn't covered. Students and I will work on solving difficult problems together too! I will respond to questions via video and chat, and students may do the same. Students will also have the chance to play lots of math games! We will play math games on abcya, color by number math art pages, team problem solving, and independent responses to answering questions. Students can record and upload video "challenges", challenging their classmates to solve problems, and even work together to solve challenges from me!!!
I am extremely patient and encouraging to my students. I also teach at a pace that any student will be able to follow along despite learning styles. Students will build confidence in their math skills.
Please see an example of the schedule below for math topics and skills that we will be working on each week. Don't worry about the dates, but rather the topics. I have been teaching and tutoring for over 13 years, in the school setting and online. I have worked as a pre-school teacher in a private learning center, an elementary/middle school math/reading tutor online, and in the school. I have also taught with companies like Tutor.com, VIPKID, Qkids, Magic Ears, EF, Itutorgroup, wyzant, Kidpass, Testingmom and more, over the years. I want to create an educational and pressure-free environment, where students ALL OVER THE WORLD can enjoy learning!!! I teach all year long and even during most holidays.

I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Master's of Social Work. I also have TESOL and TEFL: TEYL certifications. I am currently working towards my teaching license/ certification too. I am very patient and can guide students in their educational journey, every step of the way. I love to teach because I love to empower students and encourage them to take control of their futures. Beyond math and reading, I also enjoy teaching story improv, show and tell, how to start an online reselling business, personalized homework help, storytime, ESL, full curriculum, homeschool, private tutoring and more. I love learning new things about different cultures and hope to teach students from all over the world.
