Description

Class Experience

Word problems are a kids worst enemy! I am here to change that! This will be on ongoing class that will meet once a week and it will be discussion based. This class will be ran using the Cognitively-Guided Instruction Process. I will share a math story (word problem) and the students and I will pick this story apart so we fully understand the story. We will dissect the story, make predictions and share their thoughts. Then students will work independently and then students will share their...

Students will have an understanding of how to tackle word problems with gain a multitude of strategies they can use to find the answre to a word problem.

 I have my bachelors in Elementary Education and have been a 3rd grade teacher for the last three years.

Please have a piece of paper and something to write with.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
