In this class, we will play the visual perception card game Set (please see my video for a brief explanation). This class can be repeated.

#### Class experience

```Students will use visual problem solving to determine which three cards on the board make a set, using four categories: shape, color, number, and shading.
Students will learn to predict what is needed to complete a set given two of the three cards.
Students will formulate informal proofs (such as: I see these two parts of a set, therefore I must look for this part.)```
```Math is fun!  Don't believe me? Give Set, a visual problem solving game, a try!

I taught full-time for sixteen years, and math is one of my favorite subjects! I excel in teaching thinking, problem solving, and pattern finding. I believe in providing for play, discussion, and materials you can hold and move in math. I have a Masters of Special Education of Academically and Intellectually Gifted Students, and taught in a magnet school for gifted students for eight years. This means I am an expert at challenging students, delving deep into topics, and helping those for whom math isn't their greatest strength. This class is a great way to grow an algebraic mind and prepare for predicting and formulating proofs at higher levels of mathematics. ```
