Lesson 1: ➕Simplifying Fractions➕

Students will work to find the greatest common factor between a numerator and denominator to get a fraction into simplest form.

Lesson 2: ➕Converting Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers➕

Students will use long division to convert an improper fraction (a fraction with a larger numerator than denominator) into a mixed number (a whole number and fraction together).

Lesson 3: ➕Adding Fractions➕

Students will add fractions with like denominators.

Students will add fractions with different denominators by...
-Finding the least common multiple of the denominators
-Rewriting the fractions so they have the same denominator
-Adding the two fractions together

Lesson 4: ➕Subtracting Fractions➕

Students will subtract fractions with like denominators.

Students will subtract fractions with different denominators by...
-Finding the least common multiple of the denominators
-Rewriting the fractions so they have the same denominator
-Subtracting the fractions

Lesson 5: ➕Multiplying Fractions➕

Students will multiply fractions by multiplying numerators and denominators together.

Lesson 6: ➕Dividing Fractions➕

Students will divide fractions by...
-Changing the division sign to a multiplication sign
-Flipping the second fraction (the numerator becomes the denominator, and the denominator becomes the numerator)
-Multiplying the numerators and denominators together
