This one time Valentine themed class will challenge students to solve a variety of math problems, using an escape room format. Students will work together to find the party invitations, then answer the questions to solve the riddle. They must find all of the invitations and decode the word in 30 minutes. Math problems are at first and second grade level and involve a variety of concepts, including addition, subtraction, data, time, and simple fractions. Students will be encouraged to interact with peers to solve the problems; teacher will ask guiding questions and offer possible strategies if the group is stuck.
