Class experience
In this ongoing course, students will practice both single and double digit long division problems. The difficulty level will be based upon the learners who are attending each session. IMPORTANT: Over the summer, I will be revamping my course offerings and plan to only teach FLEX classes through OS next school year. Students will deepen their understanding of long division.
Ms. Sarah has a master's degree in education and Montessori certification, plus over 20 years of elementary classroom experience. She enjoys helping students understand abstract concepts using math materials that make sense to them and seeing those ah-ha moments when students grasp a difficult concept for the first time.
All class work can be done on Zoom whiteboard. However, students may wish to have 81 tokens available to practice on their own outside of class. Tokens may be pennies, buttons, etc. If the student has their own Montessori Division Board or Stamp Game, they are encouraged to use them during this class.
Occasionally and depending upon student needs and interests, short YouTube videos to help reinforce math facts may be shared during class. While YouTube is not intended for visit and use by children under 13 (and thus a non-COPPA compliant resource), Outschool has developed a way for educators to use YouTube videos in their classes in a legally compliant way. All educators need to do is add the YouTube link to their Classroom Post – Outschool embeds the link on its platform so that learners remain on the Outschool platform and don’t access the YouTube website.
With a master's degree in education, Montessori certification, over 20 years classroom experience in upper elementary Montessori classrooms, and seven years as a Girl Scout leader, I am pleased to now be teaching at Outschool. Whether we are...
