US Grade Kindergarten - 1
In this class, students will use subitizing to visualize and quickly compose numbers. Students will share how they see the numbers using words, pictures, or equations. Together, we will build math fluency and number sense. Day 1: We will discuss procedures and introduce simple combinations (up to 10 dots). Day 2: We will review procedures and work on number combinations up to 20. Day 3: We will review procedures and work on numbers containing groups of 10 (to 100). Day 4: We will explore and compare a variety of combinations for numbers. Students should have a grasp on one-to-one counting to 100 and be ready to develop mental math skills.
