US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
In this class we will review and practice math skills. We will review the following math skills in this class - number sense. number patterns and number recognition from 1 - 100, addition and subtraction, addition math facts plus 1, addition doubles math facts and subtraction math facts minus 1, counting on and counting back strategies with addition and subtraction, telling time using an analog and digital clock, graphing, identifying coins and counting sets of coins to include pennies, pennies and nickels, pennies and dimes. I will use math games, songs and hands on activities to teach this class. I believe learning should be fun, as well as educational. The math skills for this section will include subitizing numbers 0 - 12, writing numbers 0 - 20, identifying numbers, counting sets of numbers, exploring number patterns, and counting on and counting back (beginning addition/subtraction strategies) Each class will begin with a calendar time and then we will work on a different skill during each class. I will use games, songs and hands on activities to teach this class. I believe learning should be fun, as well as educational. Dates and skills taught: Week 1 - Number Sense - subitizing and writing numbers 0 - 20 Week 2 - Counting sets - writing and identifying numbers, explore number patterns Week 3 - Beginning addition strategies Week 4 - Beginning subtraction strategies 24 hours before camp starts I will put any attachments in the classroom. All attachments are OPTIONAL, your student will learn and enjoy the class with or without them.

I graduated with a bachelor degree in education. I am a certified teacher with an endorsement in Pre-K - 4th grade.
I taught first grade for 18 years and I have taught kindergarten for the last 11 years. I also have over 15 years of experience volunteering with pre-schoolers and young adults. I love teaching and making an impact on children of all ages. I feel so blessed to be able to have a job I love!
I believe that learning should be interactive and fun as well as educational. I also believe that all children learn and develop at their own pace and I believe in meeting children where they are when they come to my class. I will offer a variety of activities in my classes to enhance each students learning experience.
In my free time I enjoy riding my bike, crafting with my cricut, reading, going to the beach and pool, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.
