This class will provide an overview of the core fraction content needed for third grade math. We will review/preview fraction vocabulary, visualize benchmark fractions, and apply knowledge to grade-level fraction tasks. The class will be structured into three parts: a vocabulary/fluency activity, real-life application, and a review of our focus skill. My teaching style is to promote positivity, true engagement, and confidence. We will chat and share answers/responses in the class, however students always have the ability to pass if participation is intimidating. This "Math Burst" class is targeted at the third grade fractions standards, however also ideal for advanced 2nd graders wanting to preview fractions or 4th grade students in need of reviewing this skill.
Learning Goals
Identify equivalent fractions, create equivalent fractions, compare fractions with like denominators.
