Hello! And welcome to my class!! In this class semester we will be learning ALGEBRA! Our class will meet 3 times a week for approximately 40 minutes each class. Please note that some classes may go over the 40 minute time depending on questions and amount of children in class. I will gladly go over the time to help any student that has questions and be there after each lesson for support. I will also be available through e-mail for any questions. In this class we will be thoroughly learning Algebra 1 (Semester 2). There will be another course offered for Algebra 1 (Semester 1) This course will be the first half of the year. The break down of the classes will look as following but the dates may vary. Please reach out to me to find out which wee we are on if needed. Week 1 January 8: Solving Inequalities by Using Addition and Subtraction Solving Inequalities by Using Multiplication and Division Solving Multi Step Inequalities Week 2 January 15: Compound inequalities Probabilities Box and Whisker Plot Week 3 January 22: Box and Whisker Plot Cont. Graphing Inequalities Week 4 January 29: Systems of Equations Substitution Week 5 : Elimination Graphing System of Inequalities Review and Test Week 6 : Multiplying Monomials Dividing Monomials Week 7 Scientific Notation Polynomials Adding and Subtracting Polynomials Week 8 Multiplying polynomials Multiplying polynomials and monomials Special Product Week 9 Factors and GCF Factoring Using Distributive Property Week 10 Factoring Trinomials Factoring Difference of Squares Perfect Squares and Factoring Week 11 Solving Equations by Factoring Review and Test Week 12 Quadratic Functions Graphing Quadratic Functions Week 13 Solving Quadratic Equations by Graphing Solving Quadratic Equations by using Quadratic Formula Week 14 Exponential Functions Growth and Decay Review and Test Week 15 Simplifying Rational Expressions Multiplying Rational Expressions Dividing Rational Expressions Week 16 Dividing Polynomials Rational Expression with Like and Unlike Denominators Mixed Expressions and Complex Fractions Week 17 Solving Rational Equations Review and Test Week 18 Pythagorean Theorem Simplifying Radical Expressions Review and Test At the end of each class, homework will be given for the students to practice. At the beginning of each class we will review homework and time will be allocated for questions that the students may have from the previous days homework. If student missed class this will give them an opportunity to see what what missed as well :-) My goal is for each student to understand each concept. Help will also be provided to those outside our live meeting via e-mail or on the classroom discussion board. I encourage questions and an upbeat classroom. Come ready and willing to learn !! I do require participation from all students. I will call on students in a popcorn format some classes and other times I will call on students by raise of hand. Some questions and interaction will be by answering me directly in the chat box to ensure knowledge. Tests will be submitted to me for grading. For those who miss class, a live recording will be available. Hello! My name is Mrs. Danielle. I am so excited to teach your child! I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and graduated in the top of my class. I have taught children in the classroom as well as one on one, tutoring in person and virtually. I love teaching and making it memorable and fun for the child. I have been teaching children of all ages for over 15 years. I enjoy teaching children with songs, games, and different activities and making them excited about learning. I believe that each child has their own learning style and my goal is to accommodate each learner and their ability. My passion is teaching Math, English and different crafts (for example sewing and making hairbows). Teaching has always been my passion and I get to share that passion with my 5 children with a supportive husband. Over the last 3 years I have had the joy to homeschool my 5 children which are currently in 1st grade, 3rd grade, 2 of my children are in 6th and one in 8th grade. We love adventures and trips!
