In this class, your child will embark on a journey to explore the fascinating world of mathematics. Through a blend of hands-on activities, interactive games, and engaging lessons, we will cover essential kindergarten math concepts. **This class does build on content each week, but additional meeting times can be scheduled to help catch students up if classes are missed, joined late, or if student needs a little more support!** 1. Week of October 23rd: Introduction to Numbers -Introduce numbers 1 to 5. -Counting objects up to 5. -Basic number recognition and writing. 2. Week of October 30th: Number Sense and Counting -Introduce numbers 6 to 10. -Counting objects up to 10. -Comparing quantities (more/less). 3. Week of November 6th: Intro to Numbers/Number Sense and Counting Review -Review concepts of our first two weeks -Play revision games on numbers 1-10, counting, and comparing quantities 4. Week of November 13th: Basic Shapes -Introduce basic shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle). -Sorting and classifying objects by shape. -Simple pattern recognition. 5. Week of November 20th: Thanksgiving Math Activities/NO Homework 6. Week of November 27th: Measurement and Size -Comparison of sizes (big/small, long/short). -Introduction to basic measurement concepts (e.g., using non-standard units like paperclips or building blocks). -Ordering objects by size. 7. Week of December 4th: Review -Review concepts learned during the previous 6 weeks. -Conduct informal assessments to gauge each child's understanding.

Some household items may need to be collected for hands-on learning exercises, however, this supply list will be given before each class with enough time for students to collect all of their materials.

Hello! My name is Ms. LaHaie. I am a certified teacher in the state of Washington. I have my my B.A.Ed majoring in Elementary Education, and minoring in Early Childhood Education. I will be teaching classes for early learners ages PK-2nd grade, focusing on fine motor skills, writing, literacy, and math. In my free time I love to bake homemade chocolate chip cookies, and play cornhole! I have two kitties names Lily & Lucy, and a dog named Abby.
