Description

Class Experience

Let's put an end to fraction frustration! This class will help students gain a deep understanding of what fractions really are, which is simply another way to express division problems! We will use relatable, real world experiences such as sharing snacks or feeding pets to internalize this concept. We will then reinforce and apply this understanding through fun, motivating games. Understanding this connection between fractions and division will give students the confidence to meaningfully...

Students will be able to recognize and evaluate fractions as division problems and vice versa. Students will gain a deep conceptual understanding of the interconnectedness of fractions and division.

No required homework, but students will be given links to activities and games for further practice.

-Paper and pencil 
-We will also be using the webistes Nearpod and Blooket for activities and games. Students will be given a code to join the class session and will NOT need to sign-in or create an account.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Nearpod
Blooket

I will be informally assessing students through the completed activities and games. Parents can contact me following the class for feedback and suggestions.
