Mastering the Five-Paragraph Essay-Brand New 8/22
Learners will gain an understanding . of 5 para essay w/ topics from teacher list or student choice. Goggle.docs, Word, or similar. must be used. Dep. on class size, a 30 min. may be given so that the learner& teacher can edit/revise.

Class Experience
Students will gain knowledge of the 5 paragraph essay including brainstorming a topic, outlining, researching, writing, editing / revising on a topic that requires evidence to prove a point. Teaching of thesis statement will be an important part of the class. Students will be required to type their essays on a program that can be sent to the teacher such as Google.docs.
HW for each section will be to complete the daily required work, such as; For Day 2: Researching the topic and completing brainstorming. Completion of thesis statement, outline and brainstorming For Day 3: Completing opening paragraph, 2, 3 whatever is not completed in class. Day 3: learner's will complete paragraph 4 and conclusion paragraph during class and leader edit and revise with the teacher during that time or at a time set up for afterwards
A packet, from the instructor will be sent to each learner when registering for class. No work should be done ahead of time, but it will guide us through the process. Ability to write in google.docs , word, or some similar program highlighter for note and direction organization
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
