1 live meeting
40 mins in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. Students might need to spend some time after class to complete their artwork.Class Experience
In this drawing course, learners will learn art elements and master using crayons while having fun. Manipulating crayons improves a child's dexterity and fine motor skills. Coloring improves hand-eye coordination, which is essential in learning to write letters. Kids learn about force with crayons. A mark can be light or very dark depending on the amount of pressure they use when they draw. They will learn and practice basic drawing skills with step-by-step instructions. Kids can pick other subjects or suggest other characters to create in their free time - creativity is welcome here! Children will exercise important social skills by talking about their art and engaging by showing their work. Class structure: - At the beginning of class, learners will first greet and introduce themselves - Chat about the art subjects like Food, Animals, Landscapes, Cartoons, and more - Work along with step-by-step instructions - Add to your creations and social time - Show and tell What's your teaching style? It will be a step-by-step class with time to socialize, share, and ask questions. We move along at a steady pace, occasionally pausing for me to review and advise students on their progress. Lots of encouraging words and learning how to speak about art in a positive way that nurtures growth. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? Beginners and those with previous experiences are welcome! No drawing experience is necessary.......Really! Cameras will be asked to be on during class for attendance purposes. As you know, Outschool classes are specifically for children. Per Outschool's policy, each painter must be registered separately. Students might need to spend some time after class to complete their artwork or if they choose to draw more! If they choose, students can always share their masterpieces at the end of the class. (This is never required)

Teacher expertise and credentials
I’m a professional artist, muralist, and painter with a passion for teaching kids how to draw. With a background in University course, Montessori education ,and academic art training, I love helping young artists explore their personal interests and creativity through various mediums like color pencils, watercolors, gouache, pen, oil pastels, and markers.
One fun fact about my art background: I’ve always enjoyed drawing anime and painting moody studio scenes, and I even dabble in animation from time to time because I adore the charm of 2D work—it’s my way of relaxing and staying inspired.
In my classes, we focus on the elements of art and principles of design, but most importantly, I encourage students to create work that makes them happy and reflects who they are. It’s been a privilege to help many students perfect their skills, learn new techniques, and discover inspiration from other artists. Teaching art is truly my joy, and I believe every child has a unique story to tell through their work.
