What’s included

Class Experience

In this 4-week course, we will learn how to identify coins (pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters), and dollar bills ($1, $5, $10, $20). We will also be practice adding coins and dollar bills of the same denomination using skip counting techniques. This course is using American currency.

The class schedule is as follows:
Monday- A video will be posted providing the lesson material for the week.
Tuesday- Activity
Wednesday- Assignment and weekly check-in
Thursday- Game
Friday- Catch up

The course will use a variety of teaching methods to engage learners and meet as many learning styles as possible. Interactive games, pen and paper, cut and paste activities are just a few examples how how learners will use a multi-sensory approach to learning.

Weekly check-in are where learners will share their work (through comments and uploaded photos/videos) with the other learners enrolled and ask any questions they may have. Asking questions on the main page is the best so that other learners can benefit from the answer. I will be sure to interact and engage with students as they post their weekly tasks.
Check-ins will also include a "I have, who has" game. Learners will be given an amount of money each week. For example, I will say, “I have 2 quarters, who has the total amount?” Learner 1- “I have $.50, who has $.75?” Learner 2- “I have three quarters, who has $.25?”, and so on...

Each week will focus on a new strand. Here is an outline of how the course will proceed:
Week 1- Identifying coins
Week 2- Identifying dollar bills
Week 3- Adding coins
Week 4- Adding dollar bills

I look forward to meeting your learner!
