Mastering Math: Virtual Gaming Club (Decimals)
Class experience
Beginner - Intermediate Level
All children need to learn math, but let's face it . . . they'd rather be playing games with their friends. In our Mastering Math: Virtual Gaming Club we encourage them to do both! EACH MONTH we will play a DIFFERENT GAME using specific math concepts to pass the levels. EACH WEEK learners will be challenged with a DIFFERENT LEVEL of that current month's game. Our club sessions are highly interactive and very competitive. The learners will have a chance to compete against each other each...
In this club learners will work toward mastering the following math concepts: MATH Skills - -------------------------------- >>>Adding Decimals (ex: 3.10 + 1.75, 12.56 + 5.25) >>>Subtracting Decimals (ex: 3.10 - 1.75, 12.56 - 5.25) >>>Multiplying Decimals (ex: 3.10 x 1.75, 12.56 x 5.25) >>>Dividing Decimals (ex: 3.10 ÷ 1.75, 12.56 ÷ 5.25) Life Skills - -------------------------------- >>> Collaboration >>> Communication >>> Critical thinking >>> Problem-solving >>> Reasoning >>> Listening
My experiences as a home educator and private school teacher have afforded me 10+ years teaching math concepts to students of all ages, especially 4th through 7th graders. Throughout those years I have developed many ways to make math mastery attainable for learners within the different levels. My all-time favorite way is through gaming.

Our review sessions are highly interactive and (sometimes) competitive. Your child will have a chance to compete against the instructor, the game or one other learner (but also work together) each week and earn rewards as they play. Not all students will win. All participants should be able to exhibit good sportsmanship regardless if they win or lose. In this group the materials will be presented to the learners via an interactive Canva or Google slideshow presentation (shared on the teacher's device, only). We also may utilize Google Docs for the assessments. No external links will be clicked. No additional websites will be visited. No additional logins are necessary for the learners.
