🏫Kids learn a lot of things in school, but they may feel lost when having to navigate challenging communication contexts whether it is dealing with a problem with a friend, speaking to an authority figure, solving a conflict with a sibling, or any other challenge that presents itself. 🤔 😖Everyday we must communicate, but with little guidance on how to do it properly, children may feel lost or frustrated. 🫤 😎 Through fun activities, games, and creative exercises, participants will develop the foundational tools required to navigate various communication contexts, handle interactions with peers, adults, authority figures, and siblings, solve problems, manage conflicts, boost self-assurance, and decode nonverbal cues. This course lays the groundwork for children to develop healthy communication habits and a strong sense of self-esteem. 😎 Format of Class: Each class will consist of the following activities: - Sharing Time: Promotes active listening skills and builds community as students share their thoughts and experiences. - Introduction of the Lesson: Introduces the topic of the day with an engaging discussion. - Drawing and Sharing: Students draw related to the lesson and share their artwork with the class. - Lesson and Stories: Stories are used to teach the communication skill, and students identify with the characters and share their experiences. - Brain Break: Mid-class, we will take a break with activities like Simon Says, Emotional Charades, scavenger hunts, or other team-building exercises. - Game Connected to the Lesson: A game related to the lesson will be played to reinforce learning and add a fun element. - Class Wrap-Up and Review: The class concludes with a summary of key points covered and a review of the day's lesson. 📅 Weekly Topic List 📅 Week starting 6/10/24: Handling Conflicts with Kindness Strategies for resolving disputes while maintaining respect and kindness.
