Students often have difficulty determining when to use commas when writing, however, correct comma usage is so important for clarity in writing (i.e. "Let's eat, grandma" vs. "Let's eat grandma"). This class for ages 8 and up starts students with the basic foundation of comma usage and each week incorporates a more difficult skill for students to incorporate into their texting, writing, and grammatical studies. Students learn concepts through making an interactive note booklet, participating in scaffolded practice, reviewing previous skills through warmups each class, and through optional independent homework. Students will also be given engaging and interactive projects to practice their writing and comma usage in a creative and challenging way.
