What's included

Homework
2-4 hours per week. Weekly homework assignments, which the student can complete for a grade, will be provided upon request.
Assessment
Graded end of class assessment, which the student can complete for a grade, will be provided upon request. Teacher can also provide a course grade if requested. Course grade will be based on requested weekly homework (50%), discussion question participation (25%), and requested end of class assessment (25%).

US Grade 8 - 11
In this third part of Mastering Algebra, we will concentrate on Solving Linear and Absolute Value Inequalities, as well as Solving Systems of Linear Equations. Who can join? A beginner who has taken or has knowledge of topics covered in parts 1 & 2 of this series wanting a head start to an experienced Algebra student that needs additional practice, as well as homeschool students needing math instructions. Either way, this is the class for you.

Week 1: Linear Inequalities
     ~ Introduction to Inequalities 
     ~ Solving Inequalities 
     ~ Solving Inequalities with Parenthesis and/or Fractions 
Week 2: Solving OR/AND/Compound Inequalities
     ~ Solving OR Inequalities 
     ~ Solving AND Inequalities 
     ~ Solving Compound/Double Inequalities 
Week 3: Solving Absolute Value Inequalities
     ~ Introduction to Absolute Value Inequalities 
     ~ Solve Absolute Value Inequalities 
     ~ Solve Inequalities with Constants/Numbers Outside the Absolute Value 
Week 4: Solving Systems of Equations Part 1
     ~ What are Systems and How do we Solve Them? 
     ~ Solve Systems by Graphing 
     ~ Solve Systems by Substitution 
Week 5: Solving Systems of Equations Part 2
     ~ Solve Systems by Elimination/Addition 
     ~ Do all Systems Have a Solution? 
     ~ Solve Systems Using a ti-Calculator

Students will have access to the following material:
•	Weekly Video Lessons will be posted every Monday at 8:00AM EST.
•	Student is encouraged to take down notes in the provided workbook.
•	Additional examples with step-by-step written solutions will be available for download.
•	Additional homework practice questions with answers also available for download.
•	Graded weekly homework assignments and end of class assessments can be provided by teacher upon request.

Student will be encouraged to:
•	Answer a weekly discussion question and comment on at least one other classmates’ posts by Sunday (OPTIONAL).
•	Teacher will also be contributing to the weekly discussion question.
•	If weekly graded homework assignments requested, these will be due every Sunday.
•	If graded end of class assessment requested, this will be due one week after the last day of class.

There are no live meetings, but students should prepare to spend 2-4 hours per week completing the course.

Parental Guidance
A few pieces of information: 1. There are no live classes, objectives and materials are posted every Monday 2. Materials build on previous lessons, so is important not to skip a lesson 3. While it is a FLEX course, if requested, students will have weekly assignments due Sunday 4. Students can always contact the teacher directly if there are any questions, expect a 24hr delay/response at most 5. If you need a different starting date, let me know ** Beginner students, it would be helpful if you have taken or already have knowledge of the topics covered in: 1. There are no materials to purchase or accounts to be created. All material/access will be available in the Outschool class, provided by teacher. We will be using FREE Open Educational Resources.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

All information and materials will be in the classroom. Access will be provided by teacher, there will be no need to create an account or enter personal information.
