Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this writing course, students will be taught how to properly structure different types of paragraphs. A thorough explanation will be provided pertaining to the four purposes of writing (to entertain, to persuade, to explain, and to inform). Students will be encouraged to engage and provide examples to show their understanding and demonstrate their ability to differentiate the four purposes of writing. Next, students will learn about the importance of knowing their audience followed by integrating dialogue into their writing. The five-steps writing process will also be taught where students will be provided with an explanation on how to properly follow the writing process in order to become successful writers. Students will be asked to showcase their writing by working on an opinion piece where they will need to follow the five-steps of writing. Finally, a lesson will be presented on informal versus formal writing. Students will be provided with multiple examples about how the two writings differentiate from each other. Students will be asked to write a formal and an informal letter on a topic of their choice. My teaching style is very informative. I like to engage in class discussions and allow students to participate as much as possible so that they can share their voice, thoughts, and opinions. I will be teaching using material from Spectrum Writing (I have received written permission from Carson Dellosa Education allowing me to present content from their book). Aside from the handouts that students will be seeing, I will be providing numerous examples and explanations so that students can receive ample knowledge from each lesson. Throughout the lecture, I will be designating slots where students can engage and enhance the discussion. I will be asking many questions throughout the lesson and give each student an opportunity to respond. I look forward to our classes together.

Why Do We Write? / The Four Purposes of Writing
The lesson will be about the four purposes of writing: to entertain, to persuade, to explain, and to inform. Each purpose will be explained and sample writings will be presented. Students will be asked to present examples of scenarios where each writing can be presented. 60 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
For Whom Do We Write? / Knowing your Audience
The lesson will focus on the importance of knowing your audience. Each writing piece presents different information, hence, it is important to know what tone/style to use when presenting one's writing to a specific target audience. 60 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Dialogue
This class will focus on the importance of integrating dialogue among characters. My lesson will teach students how to properly punctuate and integrate dialogue into their stories. 60 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
The 5-Step Writing Process
This lesson will focus on the 5-steps of writing. Students will learn the importance of following the 5-steps of writing so that they can present the best version of their final work. 60 mins online live lesson

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have fourteen+ years of experience teaching Language to students of all ages. I have graduated with a 4.0 and hold a Master of Education degree, HBASc (Criminology) degree, Social Service Worker diploma, and Law Clerk diploma.
Throughout my career as an English tutor, I have helped students with their English courses. I am fluent in the English language and I am very familiar of the requirements that students must achieve in order to be successful in their writing courses. For example, I have helped students structure essays from beginning to end and taught how to properly structure sentences, how to integrate valuable supporting details, how to properly source, include in-text citations, analyze academic journals, and how to paraphrase information that is relevant to the topic at hand.
Writing is a skill that requires attention to detail and it requires students to pay close attention to their topic so that they do not present irrelevant information in their piece. As an English tutor, I teach students how to stay on topic, formulate a topic sentence, use strong adjectives and adverbs to provide great description to their writing, how to target different audiences, how to appropriately and professionally write a persuasive piece, and how to organize ideas so that writing is presented in a cohesive and clear manner.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students as young as six years old to students who are in their fourth year of university. I am an educator who pays close attention to detail and I teach students how to elaborate their thoughts. Many times, students can get very discouraged because they can only come up with one or two thoughts about a certain topic. I do not let that discourage my students; instead, I help them expand their ideas by posing additional questions which allows them to delve deeper into their topic.
My education is a combination of various academic disciplines which allows me to provide students with plenty examples and samples of how to properly write. I strongly believe that my expertise will inspire and help students develop their potentials in becoming amazing writers. Reviews
