Class Experience

Intermediate Level
Writing is very important for all students and being able to write well will help students become fluent in English. Writing also helps students understand how to organize their thoughts and think logically. This course will help students gain confidence in English and will include speaking and writing exercises.

In this course students will learn how to create ideas for an essay, then learn how to plan their essay and finally write it down. We will explore essential elements of critical thinking in order to make an essay that is exciting for the reader. We will also study grammar, punctuation, and spelling. At the end of this course students will be able to write a 5-paragraph essay about an interesting event in their life.

Schedule
Class 1 - Planning
We will begin with short introductions and an English level assessment. We will review the elements of an essay and then begin to understand how an essay is structured. Essay examples will be provided and studied. We will start to brainstorm and plan the essay.

Class 2 - Outline
Students will complete an outline of their essay and fix any issues with the structure. This class will focus on writing a rough draft and discussing the essay. Students will talk about their essay and share ideas for the final draft.

Class 3 - Final Draft
Students will fix any issues and create a final draft of their essay. Students will be encouraged to finish their essay and then present it to the class. We will then discuss the skills we learned and students will be encouraged to continue writing essays in the future.

**Students will need pencil and paper, they may need to annotate on the screen as well.**

Hello! I am an online teacher with 4+ years experience.

I have been teaching learners for many years in Toronto and abroad and strive to make my classes engaging and fun. I believe that learning should be social so I encourage students to participate and discover together. I love learning and sharing ideas about math, science, history, music, English, and much more. Students are always welcome to ask for help or clarification.

In Toronto, I run a nonprofit providing free tutoring and hope to grow this project to help students in Canada.
My favourite dish to cook is Thai curry!
