This class is taught in English.

By the end of this 8-week course, students will:
Develop a strong foundation in Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
Be able to engage in basic conversations in Spanish and express themselves clearly
Understand the cultural aspects and customs of Spanish-speaking countries
Gain confidence in their language abilities and be prepared to continue their Spanish learning journey

I have over 20 years of experience teaching Spanish to both native and non-native speakers, in Colombia and the United States. I have taught middle and high school students at various levels, from beginner to AP Literature. I am a native speaker from Colombia, and I have traveled extensively throughout Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries, which allows me to bring authentic cultural experiences into my classes.

Homework Offered
Homework will be assigned under request and can consist of vocabulary and grammar exercises, reading passages, and short writing assignments. Learners will work individually, and homework should take approximately 1-1.5 hours per week. Students will also be encouraged to practice speaking and listening skills outside of class through various online resources and media.

Assessments Offered
Learner progress will be assessed through a combination of informal assessments and class participation. While there will be no formal grading or written reports, I will provide feedback on homework assignments, monitor individual progress, and offer guidance and support to help students improve their Spanish language skills. The primary focus is on fostering a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable making progress at their own pace.

We will be using various online resources,  and materials created by me, to support learning, which will be shared during the class. Students may be directed to websites, articles, and videos that align with the topics we are covering.
