55 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Calling all Lego Master Brick Builders! Come join me for this weekly social club that will spark your creativity and challenge your building skills. Together with your teacher, and other students in this class, you will bring your bricks to life with your own creative build that you will make, or complete if you are in the middle of a build, and share with others. We will use our communication and problem-solving skills to work through challenges in our builds. We will practice active listening and inquiry skills when helping others in their builds, or asking for help in your own. In this class, we all share a love for all things Lego, and even though we will all be building something different, we will all have the ability to learn from each other as we socialize during our builds. Whether you are a Master Brick Builder already, or you just starting out with building, this is the class for you. All are welcome and I cannot wait to see you in class. I have had several years of teaching Lego Education after school, so I will both challenge and support you with your builds to help you become the Master Builder you always wanted to be.
Learning Goals
The Learning Goals for our class will be:
* Practicing patience and turn-taking skills as others share their builds.
* Practice using our words to communicate what we built, how we built it, what challenges we faced in making our build, and what we would do differently if we made the same build again.
* Practice active listening and asking questions of others builds.
* We will work to learn from others builds and challenges to help our own builds.
* We will practice our social skills, especially in regards to communication, as we learn from others in our class and their builds.
* Lastly, we will practice using our problem-solving skills when we run into challenges with our builds. We will ask others for their advice and learn from each other as we grow to become Master Brick Builders in our own right.
