This class is a continuation of Marvelous Maps Grade 1. Students need to have competed Marvelous Maps Grade 1: Part 1. We will be working through lessons 9- 18 in the book, Daily Geography Practice Student Guide. Your learner will expand their understanding of geography and maps in this 8 part course. Each student will need their own copy of the student guide. In these lessons your student will learn about the world in spatial terms. They will learn about the relationships between people, plances and environments by mappying. During these 8 lessons we will explore the National Geographic Standards: #2: How to use mental maps to organize information about people, places, and environments in a spatial context, #3: How to analyze the spatial organization of people, places, and environments on Earth’s surface. #4: The physical and human characteristics of places Every meeting we will introduce a new concept on maps, play some fun games, draw our own maps and work through the students' workbooks together. Meeting 1: Picturing a place and Picturing the United States Meeting 2: A treasure map and A street map Meeting 3: What is a globe? and A world map Meeting 4: Land and Water Map of Colorado, Arizona a Weather Map
