In this preschool storytime class, students will join Marmie the Mermaid on her adventures under the sea as she meets new friends and searches for orange marmalade. Students are welcome to bring an ocean related stuffed animal or toy to class if they would like (mermaids and sea shells also welcome!) Students will learn the letter M and be introduced to several words that start with M. They will listen to the story and make predictions about what could happen next. We will also sing fun songs about the ocean and the letter M. At the end of class, we will make a paper plate fish craft. For the craft you will need: paper plates googly eyes markers, crayons watercolors or washable paint and brushes colored paper scissors, white glue small objects for decoration: pom poms, sequins, gems, buttons, stickers This class is perfect for children who haven't started kindergarten yet and are just starting to learn letters, numbers, and colors. I can’t wait to see your child in my class! Note: If you are unable to print out the files, that's okay! You can bring paper and crayons to class and we can draw a picture of a sea friend together.

Parental Guidance
*Parents should be nearby to help with the hands-on craft we will make at the end of class. (Parental supervision is recommended because we will be using scissors and the craft could be messy.)
*Please provide your learner with a wide, open space for movement songs and/or activities in addition to table space for craft time.
Note about the mute/unmute settings:
Since this is a class for young learners, I will be using the mute/unmute button during class so that everyone can hear me and so that everyone gets a chance to speak in class. Before class, it would be helpful to either teach your child how to mute/unmute, have an adult nearby to mute/unmute for your child, or to change the settings so that the teacher can control the mute/unmute settings for your child.
Supply List
I will send you a PDF file upon enrollment that you can print out before class. It will include the Letter M worksheet and the Paper Plate Fish Craft as well. For the paper plate fish craft you will need: paper plates googly eyes markers, crayons watercolors or washable paint and brushes colored paper scissors, white glue small objects for decoration: pom poms, sequins, gems, buttons, stickers Students are also welcome to bring an ocean or sea related stuffed animal or toy to class with them if they would like!
