Description
Class Experience
Public speaking and reading, cooperative listening, facts about a new species of sharks each week. Geography, shark conservation, maps, writing skills, and spelling in a fun environment. Interact by using OCEARCH.org, shark tracking, and a fun game.
I began teaching with Outschool in 2020. My background consists of traveling the world, of course, which is my favorite! I have been trained and guided by top professionals in various industries. I have two years into completing my degree in Social Science. Being that I have traveled the world, I respect each of the cultures and am not biased. I just love all history and want to share it! I have a background of teaching dance, fitness, tutoring, and homeschool classes combined for over 20-years, but my love is in teaching children! Yes, I am a professional dancer consisting of working for Carnival Cruise Lines, dancing with singers like Toby Keith, LoCash Cowboys, and Cake. As you can see I love the arts and music, and add that with my travels, that makes me a World Traveling Fanatic!
Each class we will finish the class with the next class's shark 'selection' of a different shark species. Students will need to research and gather information about that shark, and be able to share their findings! Students will have a second worksheet to use with Ocearch.org where they select a shark to track, follow its locations, and track on paper!
2 files available upon enrollmentPencil 1-Colored Pencil Two worksheets attached #1 The Shark Tracking worksheet (only needs to be printed once for the entire course) #2 The Weekly Shark worksheet (needs to be printed for each class as we will be completing for a shark weekly)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Shark Videos - I play short snippet shark videos. This consisting of Blue World TV. (Using in a Screen Share Only) This is not on the External Resource list approved by Outschool. Please visit this site and see that it is appropriate for children. Ocearch.org - In the middle of this class, I leave my powerpoint to hop over to a LIVE website called OCEARCH.org where we chose a shark for your student and track it. No personal information is needed as we simply choose a shark, gather the name, and I type it in each week to see it's progress. This is a Screen Share I will perform, and your student can visit out of class. This is not on the External Resource list approved by Outschool. Please visit this site and see that it is appropriate for children. Fun Game - At the end of class there is a fun game that consists of either 2 Truths and False fact game or Guess that Shark.
www.Ocearch.org 2 worksheets to be printed... #1 Shark Showdown Worksheet to have before each class #2 Shark tracker worksheet (print just one) to have for the entire 8-classes (Thanks to Blue World TV and Ocearch.org)
