In this one-time class, learners will explore how art can be a relaxing and creative practice they can use anytime. We will begin by setting a calm, welcoming tone with a -brief check-in/ introductions. Next, we will engage in a simple meditation to tune into the present moment. Once grounded, we will dive into our mindful mark-making activity: Creating a Mark-Making Mandala! Using simple tools like pencils, pens, markers, crayons, coloured pencils, learners will explore how repetitive lines, shapes, and patterns can foster a sense of calm and flow. I will guide learners through the steps and provide examples, but there is no right or wrong way to create – this is all about the process! Learners will leave the session with a finished or in-progress piece and the skills to recreate this relaxing activity on their own whenever they like. My classes are supportive and judgement-free, come as you are. Learners will get to introduce themselves in a fun and creative way, ask questions during the main activity, and share their work or insights if they choose to. This part is not mandatory as often we create something personal we don't want to share - and that's okay!

When I am not writing or making art, I am working with young students in public schools as a Teacher Assistant. I work with students with special needs and adaptations.
