Making Your Own Mickey or Minnie Ears, Crafting Your Way to Disney - Teens
Class experience
In this class we will be creating a Mickey or Minnie ear headband. Over the course of a week learners will design and create their own headband while meeting fellow Disney-loving learners! I will be carefully demonstrating each step with a huge emphasis on safety! Learners will finish...
I am a stitcher, crafter and pattern maker and I have been selling my own Mickey and Minnie ears on Etsy for the last 5 years. I have made hundreds of pairs and it never gets old!
1 file available upon enrollmentPrinted ear template (provided digitally) Scissors (a pair appropriate for paper and cardboard and a pair appropriate for fabric) Mini hot glue gun with extra glue sticks (about 10) (typically $3 to $20, high heat recommended) measuring tape or ruler Pen or Pencil 1 inch wide plastic craft hairband (no teeth) 1/4 yard fabric or a fat quarter, ideally a quilter's cotton Fabric for the bow (approx. 12inch square) (any fabric will do) Scrap cardboard (amazon boxes work great!) enough to cut out four 5 inch circles Stuffing such as Poly-fil (just a few oz or about 2 handfuls) 1 yard flat back jewel trim (found at any craft store) 1/2 yard, 1/2 inch wide lace or ribbon to lice the inside of the headband RECOMMENDED Heat resistant gloves typically $5 to $10 found on Amazon For class 1 we will just need the template, scissors, pen or pencil, hot glue gun, glue sticks and the scrap cardboard. We will go over the rest of the supplies needed that day.
In this class we will be working with both scissors and hot glue. We will be carefully going over safety rules and techniques but I HIGHLY recommend using heat resistant gloves to avoid burns.
