The unique approach to spelling instruction in this course helps learners build the essential knowledge for being a fluent and accurate reader and writer. The lessons teach homophones, spelling changes, prefixes, suffixes, complex spelling patterns, new vocabulary and word usage that most first and second grade curriculums cover. Each Making Words activity contains rhyming words which help learners review the more complex vowel patterns. This unique approach allows learners at all levels within first and second grade to make progress in their spelling, decoding, and vocabulary skills.
