Making Friends Social Group (Ages 5-7)
Class Experience
This single session social group is a fabulous opportunity to practice meeting new people and learning about each other. In this safe and facilitated space we: -Are building an inclusive learner community -Practice conversation and social skills -Hear about far away places -Meet learners with similar interests -Develop positive ways to introduce ourselves to new people -Think Outschool is pretty great -Teach each other -Might make lasting friendships -Appreciate each other's values,...
- Social classes satisfy BC’s curriculum/BC Ministry of Education for K–12 around communication studies through: acquiring and presenting information; focusing on intent and purpose in delivery; and connecting and engaging with others.
I strongly recommend a mic and headphones for this class. We want to hear what you have to say!
This is a facilitated, not an instructional class. There is no content on "How to" make friends. This is a social space where learners are encouraged to share things that are important or interesting to them. Practice is the best learning. Please ensure your learner is in a quiet space with very little background noise. Reminder, adults shouldn't be in view of the camera. If you're looking for an instructional class, you can find Conversation With Friends here: https://outschool.com/classes/conversation-with-friends-CRdpX4EF?usid=ww4VN1Zv&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link Learners are invited to co-create our meetings. Bring your ideas and passions to class. I will do my best to run the activities that learners suggest. This group is trauma informed. That means we don't play around with potentially traumatic topics including murder and violence. All topics are welcome for discussion but trauma will not be our party theme. This includes murder mystery games. Thanks for understanding this effort to provide a safe space (in a short time) for all.
