Class Experience

In this one time class we will learn the basics of applying makeup. We will go step by step in the makeup process and apply a full face of makeup together. I will explain each of the steps while demonstrating and providing tips and tricks to help students create their own individual and natural look. I will help them learn what colors match best with their eyes and skin tones along with the correct makeup tools to use for each part of the face. We will discuss questions they have and I will provide support and feedback throughout the entire lesson. We will also take time to talk about the importance of skin care. Students will learn how to prep their face before applying makeup and how to clean their faces after wearing makeup. At the end of our class each student will have applied their own full face of makeup, giving them a complete and natural look.

Parental Guidance
I encourage parents to help students patch test new makeup for allergens prior to class. Parents may also help supervise in makeup removal after class so there are no skin irritations or breakouts. I will cover these steps in our lesson and have included links for parents and students to help with proper face washing and how to patch test. https://www.wikihow.com/Prepare-Your-Face-Before-Applying-Makeup https://www.wikihow.com/Wash-Your-Face https://www.vitacost.com/blog/bath-beauty/3-steps-to-patch-test-new-beauty-products.html *It is parent and student discretion what makeup they want to try to what makeup they do not. I will do a full face lesson as students follow along, watch and try any makeup they are comfortable with. I am here to answer questions, guide them and have fun teaching about the basics of makeup and making it look natural for their age.
Supply List
Students are welcome to bring any makeup they have to class Students will choose their own colors and I will offer suggestions based on what they have.
Parents will not need to purchase any extra makeup, but may do so at their own discretion.

Below is the list of supplies I will use during class:
Face moisturizer (face prep) - optional- I do suggest using a moisturizer prior to applying makeup in order to supply hydration to the face. Especially for beginners and teens who deal with facial breakouts.
Foundation Primer- any kind
Foundation- liquid
Foundation Powder or Setting Powder
Concealer/highlighter- optional
Eye shadow primer-optional
Eye shadow- 3 shades if possible (one light, one medium, one dark)
Blush/Bronzer- any shade
Mascara
Eyeliner-liquid or pencil
lipstick/lip gloss
eyebrow pencil or pallet- optional
Mirror- One that stands up without holding it is best.
Application Brushes- Will need eye shadow and powder brush. If applying foundation, the student will need a foundation brush or beauty blender (sponge).

Teacher expertise and credentials
Makeup is a part of my daily routine. I have used makeup since I was a young teenager and it has always been a hobby of mine. I love doing other peoples makeup and teaching others how to apply makeup. I wish I had someone when I was younger to teach me all that I know now.
