Class Experience
US Grade 6 - 9
In this four-week asynchronous class, students will build their own countries from the ground up! Students will interact with the teacher and other students each week through discussion, video, presentations, and feedback. The students will start with a blank slate. Weekly topics are given, and the students will learn the various types of systems and ideas used in different countries. They will analyze their options and then add to their own country based on what they learn, or make up something of their own. Each week, students will submit a document detailing the specifics for their country on their weekly topics, and adding a section to a PowerPoint/Slides/Keynote document that they will use for their final presentation. The students will post their work and give video presentations of what they've come up with, they will give feedback to each other, and debate different topics pertaining to their countries. In the end, the student will present their country in its entirety to the class. Weekly topics: Week 1 - Territory, Government, Flag, Constitution Week 2 - Demographics, Population, Culture, Values, Traditions, Religion, History, Industry Week 3 - Law and Order, Immigration, Education, Military, Tourism Week 4 - Imports/Exports, Technology, Anthem, Presentations
