Class Experience

In this 4 week flex class learners will take their basic background in crochet, perfect it, build on it and create a fun hat and scarf set.

Videos will be released on Mondays with the new homework for the week. Learners will need to watch the video, work through the homework and have that week’s work. Imported by Sunday. Learners will need to upload a short video or a picture of their completed work to that point. Learners will also be required to comment on at least one other learners work finding one compliment and one thing they can work on (said in a kind and constructive manner).

Throughout the week we will be able to use the chat on the classroom page to ask questions, discuss challenges, show progress, get help, etc.

Week by week breakdown:

Week 1: Refresher of basic crochet terms and stitches. Such as chain (ch), double crochet (Dc), and turn. We will discuss scarf widths and lengths and make the best choice for us. We will choose our color choices and begin the first 12 rows of our scarf. Scarf progress should be posted by Sunday as well as feedback to another learner.

Week 2: Work through how to do color changes. Continue on with 12 more rows of each color changing colors as needed. Show how to measure as we go to check for length. Show how to do tassels. Finished scarf should be posted by Sunday as well as feedback to one other learner.

Week 3: Hat beanie basics. Begin the hat. Work through row 10, the increases. Hat progress should be posted by Sunday as well as feedback to one other learner.

Week 4. Choose pattern for the base of the hat. Finish off the hat and the last few rows. Finished hat and completed set should be posted by Sunday as well as feedback to one other learner. As the last picture is posted if your finished project; learners will be expected to do a gallery walk and comment on other learners’ work. Then write to the teacher 2 new things you learned from this class.
