Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
In this one-time class, we'll tap into our whimsical side and make a fairy (or fairies, if time allows)!

🎨 We'll start class with a warm welcome and icebreaker question, then we'll move on to our craft.

🎨 First we'll use a craft stick/popsicle stick and markers to make the body of the fairy.

🎨 Next, we'll use draw our wings on paper and decorate them. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to do this. This is their art project and I encourage learners to be creative and make it their own!

🎨 Finally, we'll use scissors to cut out our wings and then glue them to the body. If time allows, we'll start over again making a friend for our fairy!

I use a top-down camera to show what I'm doing, so learners can clearly see how to do each step. I also go nice and slow, step-by-step, and make sure everyone is with me before moving on.

I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Everyone's finished product will be different and we celebrate those differences! Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here!

There is no experience required for this class- beginners welcome!

Hello! My name is Ms. Suzanne and I love teaching arts and crafts to young artists. I believe everyone can be an artist! I love working with kids and have done so as a daycare teacher, nanny, school volunteer, and as a mom to my own three kids. I have a BA in linguistics from the University of Florida and I've been doing arts and crafts for as long as I can remember (I even ran my own Etsy shop for awhile!). When I teach arts and crafts projects to young learners, I believe in giving them lots of encouragement to try new things and make mistakes. Everyone's art will be a little different, and not only is that ok, it's amazing!
