If you are looking for something sooner, check out my self-paced option: https://outschool.com/classes/make-a-movie-start-to-finish-film-school-for-kids-otwJVmki?refuid=XWqnhPxA Get ready to roll cameras and make some cinema magic! 🎬 I'm so excited to bring this bootcamp-style film class to Outschool. In this camp, we'll cover all the ins and outs of the film-making process, from pre-production to post-production. And by the end, you'll have your very own short film to show off to the world. This camp is perfect for movie buffs of all levels. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, you'll get individualized feedback and guidance to help you bring your movie ideas to life. And if you're feeling extra inspired, you can even repeat the camp for different film projects. So let's get those cameras rolling and make some epic films! 🎞 Enroll now and let the film-making fun begin! Here's what we will be doing for each lesson: LESSON 1: Intro to Movie Making LESSON 2: Planning the Story LESSON 3: Filming LESSON 4: Video Editing See the course syllabus for more information. This class uses Kahoot, Google Docs, Jamboards, and iMovie. As an alternative, learners can also choose to use word docs or a notebook in place of the Google Docs Adobe Rush can be used in place of iMovie. NOTE: The pace of this class does not allow me to dive into scriptwriting, rather, we will plan out stories using a story structure and visual storyboards. If you would like for your learner to write the script that they use for their story, consider signing up for my self paced screenwriting course: https://outschool.com/classes/you-can-write-a-movie-screenwriting-creative-writing-BLdy2Znb?refuid=XWqnhPxA ⭐ If the listed class times don't work for you, I also have a self-paced version of this class that includes some instruction on screenwriting: https://outschool.com/classes/make-a-movie-start-to-finish-film-school-for-kids-otwJVmki?refuid=XWqnhPxA ⭐ Do you have a visual learner or a learner with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, or autism? No problem! As a certified special education teacher, I know how to create classes that are supportive and engaging for neurodiverse learners. So if you're ready to have some fun and learn in a way that works best for you, sign up now and let's get started! NOTE: Some students may need additional help completing their daily assignments after the lessons. I am happy to work in partnership with their grown-ups after class to answer any questions and share demo videos as needed. I also stay on the calls an extra 5 minutes to answer questions as needed. We use a lot of technology in this camp and I do my best to accommodate every learner but we will sometimes need your help. Please let me know in advance if you need to use a different app or use notebook. Thank you! See you in class! 😊

Parental Guidance
Depending on their story ideas, learners may need help with creating props, sets, acting, and filming. Nothing elaborate is necessary but I also try to avoid squashing creativity with practicality. I've have students make movies with their dolls when they couldn't get actors together in time.
I prefer to teach editing in iMovie because it is one of the most simple free video editors that doesn't require users to have an account.
Adobe Premiere Rush is a great alternative for anyone working on a phone or tablet that isn't an apple device.
Supply List
Learners will need to either use a notebook or word document to draft their movies. Templates will be provided as Google Docs and Word Docs. But I can also demonstrate how to draft a script in a notebook upon request. Any type of digital camera: smartphone, tablet, even a computer camera will work for some movies, but we will make it work. In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses: iMovie Kahoot Google Jamboard Google Docs Adobe Premiere Rush
