In this prickly painting class students will use acrylic paints to design their very own cactus pebble family! We will learn about where and how they grow, and many more spiky facts! Through this class I will teach students to stop and appreciate the beauty and variety of the natural world. I will use power point slides to show the wide variety of cactus there are. Did you know in the cactus species there are 132 different types? WOW!!!! As we paint each cactus I will introduce the students to color mixing and teach them how to make different shades of green. Students will have lots of opportunity to show their color mixing skills and their final cactus family to each other.

Pebbles (a good number for your family!) Acrylic paints (green, white, black, yellow, blue) White paint pen or a thin paintbrush Googly eyes Thicker paintbrush Hairdryer Plant pot (big enough for your cactus family to sit in-optional) Paper towel for blotting Jar of water

Hello there!
I am a qualified British teacher living in the U.K. I have taught the 3-11 year old children for over for over 15 years. At present I teach part-time at a local school Here I teach 4-8 year olds Math Mastery and phonics.
My other passion is to teach children about the natural world through drawing and craft.
I am a qualified outdoor educator (Forest School Level 3), and cannot wait to bring the outside into your home. By teaching about the natural world I hope to encourage your child to go out, explore and become passionate about the natural world. Through drawing, natural crafts and stories I would hope to build a connection between your child and the natural world, that will light a spark of love for the outdoors, and will last them a lifetime.
I also love to pass on knowledge about my culture, I am originally from Wales, have lived in Scotland and now live in England... so there will be lots to learn in my lessons about these three countries of the United Kingdom.
I would wish your child to be so inspired by my lessons that they would want to find out more independently about art, nature and different cultures.
