Class Experience

Jump into magical time machines and fly on winged horses to learn all about unicorns, mermaids, and dragons. Travel around the world and visit many countries in different eras. Explore more about mysterious creatures and animals described in fairy tales, myths, and legends.

Discover more about these beautiful creatures by looking at pictures, hearing stories, and coloring unicorn, mermaid, and dragon artworks. Each day, we will color a different drawing based on the theme of the day. In the last class, we will make a special art project, have show and tell, and earn camp certificates and awards.

Learners are encouraged to wear headbands, hats, shirts, etc. of these mythical creatures. I will be wearing unicorn, mermaid, and dragon costumes as well.

Camp Day 1:
Explore myths and legends about unicorns, mermaids, and dragons on a magical adventure.
Hop into magical time machines. Meet winged horses and griffins that will bring us to faraway lands.
Imagine what animals may have inspired these mythical creatures.
Create a magical picture that includes all three creatures: unicorns, mermaids, and dragons.

Design a beautiful underwater picture with a mermaid, merman, and buried treasure.

Camp Day 4:
Fly on the mythical griffin on a fantasy adventure to visit a giant fire-breathing dragon's secret cave.
Color a magical world with a dragon, knight, and castle.

Camp Day 5:
Celebrate the last day of camp by visiting your favorite mysterious creatures.
Take one final trip on the time machine and a flight with a winged horse and griffin.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My mom taught at a bilingual elementary school in the South Bronx. I always admired the way she spent countless hours preparing for classes and the way she loved her job. I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps.

Most of my eight years of teaching has been in the museum education field. I have taught hands-on arts classes in science, art, and history museums in Florida and Massachusetts, as well as abroad in Costa Rica.

I live in Florida with my husband and our cat, Patrick. I have a B.A. in Art History degree as well as a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Florida. Additionally, while I was working in a history museum in Boston, I took evening classes in Art Education at Harvard.

I believe that learning should always be engaging and fun. My experience has taught me that most children learn and retain information the best when the lesson is hands-on. My classes have educational topics that incorporate an arts and crafts activity.

I look forward to the opportunity to teach your children in a fun and creative way. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
