In this fun and exciting class, your child will take an adventure to ancient Japan where they will learn about the secrets of the Ninjas! They will be so excited and captivated by the lesson content that they won't even notice that they are becoming better readers. Since this class is reading based, your child will need to be able to read at a basic level and be at least somewhat comfortable with reading aloud. This book has a reading level of 1.9. Each class will be structured as follows:...
Students will learn to gain confidence with reading aloud as well as how to make predictions about a story, sequence the events of the story, summarize chapters of the story, and comprehension skills.
Readers will be given a brief homework assignment each day to review the materials covered in class. This homework should be completed and returned to class the next day. Since we will be reading aloud in class, the student will only be responsible for answering questions about the content. Each assignment will take no longer than 30 minutes.
Your child will need the following items: a personal copy of Night of the Ninjas pencil or pen additional materials will be sent via email 24 hours before class begins
Each lesson will contain reviews so I can assess the progress of learners. In addition, daily assignments will be given to each student so the parents will be able to see what they are learning and report trouble areas to me.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
