Some background knowledge with the Magic the Gathering TCG is recommended but both beginner and experienced Magic the Gathering players are welcomed. In this ongoing Magic the Gathering Commander Social club we will students will have the opportunity to practice their social skills, math skills, and strategies. All players should be ready with a Commander deck of 100 cards. The class will start with a discussion. Topics that will be discussed include deck building tips, strategies for winning games, top commander and play styles and player etiquette involving Commander politics. The majority of the class will be playing the game of commander. Topics: Week 1 (Oct/11/2024) : Deck building strategies Week 2 (Oct/18/2024): Strategies for winning the game Week 3 (Oct/25/2024): Player etiquette and Commander Politics Week 4 (Nov/1/2024): Top Commanders and Play styles Players will have an opportunity to play in a pod with other players and the teacher while being provided with tips and tricks throughout the match. If you love Magic the Gathering, playing Commander, learning new strategies, leveling up your skills and having fun while doing so, then this is the club for you!

Parental Guidance
Magic the Gathering, is rated for children 13+ but many past students ages 10 and up have done well with the game. Magic the Gathering cards include monsters like zombies, gargoyles and vampires that some might find scary.
Supply List
Students will need a 100 card Commander deck and a camera to display their cards while playing.

Hello! I am a bilingual teacher that is passionate about teaching classes on D&D, Magic the Gathering, Pokémon TCG, comic books, arts and crafts! I have taught for Fort Worth Independent School District for over 8 years and have experience teaching Dual Language classes, Spanish Immersion, Regular Program and online classes. I believe that learning should be fun and that there are many ways to solve the same problem or present answers. I compete competitively in Magic and Pokémon TCG tournaments and host a Pokémon club after school where we learn math strategies and how to play like a master!
