During this on-going workshop learners will learn the elements of how to write a good lyric. We will go over the various components of a song lyric, how to create a successful storyline, tips to get started if you have writer's block, and more. We will analyze song lyrics from some popular songs to see why those lyrics work. Through a series of writing prompts, learners will have the opportunity to either work by themselves or in breakout rooms with other class participants. Learners that are interested in Songwriting are welcome into this class as well. As we are crafting lyrics during class, if you would like to take some of your lyrics you make in class start putting it to music - you are more than welcome to. Each Class - Learners can bring any lyrics that they have done or are currently working on to show in the class for feedback (learners are not required to show if they do not want to) Week 1: What makes a strong lyric Week 2: Coming up with great a storyline Week 3: Writing Prompt Week 4: Lyric analysis of popular songs Week 5: Lines and Rhymes Week 6: Writing Prompt Week 7: Lyric analysis of popular songs Week 8: Writing Prompt Learners will have the opportunity to re-enroll after this 4 Following classes will expand on everything learned so far. New topics and lyric strategies will be introduced and other songs from different artists will be analyzed.

Professionally I am a grammy balloted recording artist and producer; I've charted in the Top 100 in 11 different countries on several projects that I've worked on and produced; One album I worked on debuted at #2 on the NAR Radio Charts and stayed in Top 10 for 3 months; I've performed and produced at Carnegie Hall; worked with top producers at the Jim Henson Studios in California; and have had many sync licenses that have aired on networks such as The History Channel; The Learning Channel; Fitness Channel; WE Network.
