Loom knitting is a great skill to learn that is simpler for learners than typical knitting needles. There are so many projects you can make with a knitting loom. I have taught different ages to loom knit everything from scarves to shawls, ear warmers and hats. In this class, we will teach the fundamentals on how to get started with loom knitting. Below is a breakdown of what the class schedule will look like: Class 1: Introduction to the Loom Knitting Students will be introduced to the knitting loom, pegs, loom hook and loom needle. Students will learn about the different types and sizes of yarn. Cast - On (How to Start Loom Knitting) In this class, students will learn how to "cast - on" in loom knitting. They will see a demonstration on how to attach the yarn to the knitting loom and start their first "wrap"(stitch). They will begin their first few rows and see their project come to life! Class 2: Knitting Loom Progress and Questions We will be loom knitting together as a class, in an effort to develop their skills. By this point, each learner will have decided on what they will be making and lengths needed. Cast - Off (How to End Knitting) In this class, students will learn how to cast - off in loom knitting. They will watch me demonstrate on how to cast off and bind off their project!

I welcome the diversity and love working with all students to include neuro-divergent learners. Students are encouraged to share their thoughts and discoveries while asking questions along the way. Knowledge is power!
Outside of the classroom, I am a homeschooling mom to three wonderful children, and Girl Scout Leader. We love visiting family and the beach! We are the proud owners of two small dogs and foster animals.
My classes will provide a fun and safe environment to learn and talk about some of our favorite things.
