LOL! Did You Ever Hear the One About... Tell a Joke!
What's included
1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. Homework prior to class optional, but recommended.. Find a few funnies that made your sides split. Practice your presentation to get a chuckle out of some new friends in this class.Class Experience
Bring on the giggles. This class is designed to help the shy kiddo to relax with other assertive students in this new classroom setting... online. Let's share a giggle or two and make the day fun. This classroom is fun and clean! . Practice your delivery and then take turns on the mic! You may dress for the occasion, optional. Be respectful. (No disrespectful jokes allowed. Students will be muted for the duration of the class time and parents will be contacted). If you need a joke from teacher just ask in the chat box and I will copy and paste one for your child to recite. No pressure! All smiles welcome.
Learning Goals
I invite students to write their own jokes, riddles or puns. Joke books are welcome too, for a 30 minute rolling on the floor lesson called Giggles with Graham! This is my 15 year old sanguine personality that has been practicing his jokes on his older brothers for sometime. We each have a kind smile to share and many giggles to give. As your student engages in these funnies, they will be learning important social skills in the online classroom and will be encouraged to show support and a friendly attitude toward their classmates with enthusiasm. We can acquire the skill to encourage one another to try our best even when we are a little shy or lack confidence. I will allow a child to pick a number to take turns with the microphone. You can draw and cut out a 2D microphone, use a hair brush, etch, or grab a toy mic from the dollar store. Any 'mic' will do.
Often, after hearing a joke, the kids will be reminded of one. So it may be good to have a paper and pencil handy to jot down the joke so they can recite it at their turn. Or they may want to remember a good one they hear in class to recite for you!
Each child will get 3-5 minutes at their turn.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Greetings from eastern South Carolina! My teaching career began more than 27 years ago when I began home schooling my first son, then 4 more added to a creative, interactive, cottage industry filled, home school classroom, ever changing and yet constant. I love the hungry minds of little people and teens! We learn most about things that interest us, so my classes are interesting and full of related activities.
I live at a lake on a ranch/retreat center with horses, chickens, ducks, boats, and many young summer campers and year 'round adults!
I love to garden and watch bugs and worms!
You may see some critters in my classroom.
I am anxious to meet you! Mrs. Jodi
