This two-part class is designed for fans of the Nancy Drew computer games created by Her Interactive. If you know and love some of these games, this class is for you! Together, we will explore the mysteries of these games and dive deep into our experiences as Nancy. We will discuss the different characters, plots, design elements, and skills we experienced through game play. You do not need to have played all the games to enjoy and participate in these classes. These classes will include slideshow presentation to guide our discussions and students will be prompted with open-ended questions about their experiences playing the games. In both classes, students will engage in a Kahoot game to test their general knowledge about the Nancy Drew games (you do not need to be an expert on all of the games to participate and have fun with these Kahoots!). Class One : We will discuss our favourite and not so favourite games. We will examine the writing styles, graphics, and game play features. Class Two : We will discuss our favourite and not so favourite characters that we have interacted with during game play. We will also analyze some skills and fun things that we have learned through game play and how they can relate to real world problem solving. Join me to chat about the best sleuth, Nancy Drew... if you dare! PLEASE NOTE: Students in this class will be expected to keep endings of games a secret, unless otherwise discussed. This is to ensure that students who have not played particular games do not have their future experiences ruined.
