US Grade 6 - 9
Beginner - Intermediate Level

 Week 1
Lesson 1
Learning to Use Colored Pencils
Students will learn different grips for different techniques, pressures, and styles. We will practice color/value scales, burnishing, and layering color, and how to add dimension with complementary color shading techniques.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Refining Techniques
Students will apply what was learned in the last class in drawings of simple shapes and objects, such as spheres, cubes, cones, and create a "draped fabric" look.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Homework Offered
Students may opt to continue practicing techniques and/or begin a final drawing that we will finish together during the last class.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
