LIVE Online Art Class: Fold an Origami Dragon Eye!
Class experience
US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this one-class art activity, students will learn a simple form of Origami (Japanese paper folding) to create a movable dragon eye, and then use markers to color it. This class is a great accompaniment to my Beware the Eye of the Dragon! class, in which we analyze and draw different types of shapes, patterns and textures to draw a detailed dragon eye. This class can be taken either before or after! No background knowledge or skill is necessary! Learner progress will be evaluated...
I have always been fascinated with the eye, whether human, animal, or mythical creature! I love to create unique details, and with a dragon's eye, there are SO many possibilities because we can make it look realistic AND imaginative! AND, the origami part is easy!
lightweight paper (around 60# or less; printer paper works well) NOT cardstock or Bristol Board. Ruler Scissors Pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener Markers, crayons or oil pastels (I use Crayola broad line markers for this)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
