Class Experience

In this class, students will learn yoga poses and yoga sequences that are designed to promote flexibility, concentration, and body awareness. The class will start with greetings to each student and then move to introductions of the practice for the day. We will then transition into the movement portion of the class. Students will be taught a series of yoga poses to warm their bodies up, a sequence to calm and relax their muscles, next we will learn a breathing technique, and to finish class off students will get to participate in a "yoga show and tell" where they get to show their classmates their favorite pose that we learned during class..

Week of June 12th - Welcome/Introductions, seated warm up, sun salutations, seated cool down poses, breathing exercise (hot air balloon).

Week of June 19th - Welcome/Introductions, seated warm up, sun salutations, seated cool down poses, breathing exercise (dragon fire breath).

Week of July 26th - Welcome/Introductions, seated warm up, sun salutations, seated cool down poses, breathing exercise (bumblebee breath).

Week of July 10th - Welcome/Introductions, seated warm up, sun salutations, seated cool down poses, breathing exercise (counting + belly breath).

My teaching style is very laid back. I am a very approachable teacher and I love student feedback and encourage my students to ask me any questions they may have. I like to have fun in my classes so laughter and jokes are always welcome!

Parental Guidance
While practicing yoga is not dangerous, it is best to have a parent/guardian close by. Students should also have a clean and clear space that is big enough for them to lay their bodies down comfortably as we will be on the ground at some points in the class. A yoga mat or a towel is recommended but not totally necessary. A bottle of water is also recommend. Light stretching can happen before coming to class. This yoga class is best suited for bare feet.
