'Little Women' the History, the Novel, the Movie
Who hasn't seen the movie yet? This course will be a dive into the novel 'Little Women' by Louisa May Alcott while focussing on the Women and Antebellum History. While this is a Social Studies course there will be a good amount of writing.

Classes will vary in structure from lecture focused, to discussion geared, to student centered work. We will cover a variety of themes centered around the Novel. We will read excerpts from 'Little Women', learn about the author's life and how she wrote the book as a semi-autobiography. Through studying her life, we will learn about the life of Women in the 19th century, Women's Rights, and gender expectations.
Learning Goals
Students will get the rare opportunity to learn about a narrow topic of History, through the life of an author, while also strengthening their writing skills.
